  • 6 reasons why Sardinia will capture the heart of every gay traveller

Sardinia is a Mediterranean island that feels made for travellers who crave beauty, balance, and authenticity. With rugged landscapes, dazzling beaches, and a culture that celebrates slow living , it’s a place where every moment feels effortless. For gay travellers, Sardinia offers both a warm welcome and endless opportunities to explore  - from hiking through dramatic gorges to dining beneath the stars. Here are six reasons why this island deserves a spot on your gay travel list. Reason #1: Wild natural beauty from mountains to sea Sardinia is a study in contrasts - wild cliffs meet calm, turquoise bays, and ancient forests spill into white-sand beaches. The island’s eastern coast, around Cala Gonone , showcases some of the Mediterranean’s most dramatic scenery. Here, limestone peaks rise above the sea, while the Gorropu Gorge - often called “Europe’s Grand Canyon” - cuts deep into the landscape. Days blend effortlessly between adventure and relaxation : a swim in the crystalline water, a hike through fragrant maquis, a peaceful evening watching the light fade over the hills.  Find out more . Reason #2: A laid-back Mediterranean rhythm In Sardinia, time slows down . Locals linger over morning espresso, evenings begin with a leisurely aperitivo , and meals stretch long into the night. This easy rhythm feels natural and restorative, especially for gay travellers seeking a getaway that balances freedom and comfort . Whether you’re enjoying seafood by the harbour, tasting crisp Vermentino wine, or wandering quiet cobbled streets after dinner, the island invites you to unwind and reconnect - with yourself and with those around you.  Find out more . Reason #3: History and culture around every corner Sardinia’s past is as rich as its landscapes. The island is dotted with Nuragic ruins , medieval fortresses, and towns steeped in tradition. In Alghero , narrow lanes reveal Catalan influences in both language and architecture, while Bosa charms with pastel-coloured houses climbing a hillside above the Temo River. Down south, Cagliari blends old-world character with modern coastal life, offering sweeping sea views and lively markets . Every stop adds a new layer to the story - one that connects ancient history with contemporary island life.  Find out more . Reason #4: Active days and unforgettable adventures This is an island made for exploration. Hiking, boating, snorkelling, and even off-road jeep rides reveal Sardinia’s many faces. The Gulf of Orosei  is a highlight, where hidden beaches like Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu can be reached only by foot or by boat. Each experience feels personal - whether it’s swimming beneath towering cliffs, sharing a picnic in a secluded cove, or sailing across waters so clear you can see every ripple of sand below. Sardinia rewards curiosity and gives every day its own rhythm of discovery.  Find out more . Reason #5: Warm hospitality and a gay-friendly welcome Sardinia might not have the big-city gay nightlife of Rome or Milan, but it more than makes up for it with genuine inclusivity . Locals are famously friendly, and many hotels, restaurants, and beach clubs are openly welcoming. Beaches such as Liscia Ruja , Cala Serena , and stretches of Costa Smeralda attract LGBTQ+ visitors looking for relaxed, social settings. It’s less about partying and more about connection - enjoying the company of like-minded travellers in a place that feels effortlessly open and comfortable. Find out more . Reason #6: A sensory escape for body and soul Sardinia engages every sense. The scent of wild rosemary  carried on the sea breeze. The taste of pecorino cheese and deep red Cannonau wine . The warmth of the sun on your skin after a swim in the sea. The rhythm of the waves echoing in hidden coves. • 6 great reasons why gay travellers should visit Tuscany

Tuscany is the kind of place that feels like it was made for pleasure - sun-soaked hills, picturesque old towns, incredible food, and a culture that celebrates la dolce vita . For gay travellers, it offers that rare combination of beauty, openness, and authenticity. Whether you’re dreaming of long hikes in the countryside, exploring local cuisine and food culture, or golden sunsets over vineyard-draped hills, here are six great reasons why Tuscany should be on your radar! Reason 1: A landscape straight out of a Renaissance painting Tuscany’s natural beauty is legendary - and for good reason. Imagine gently rolling hills, rows of silvery cypress trees, lush vineyards as far as the eye can see, and quaint medieval towns perched on rugged hilltops… The area around Siena , Pisa , San Gimignano , and the Chianti region is filled with places where time palpably slows down. It’s the kind of landscape that invites leisurely walks, spontaneous detours, and moments you’ll remember long after your trip ends. Reason 2: Food and wine that celebrate la dolce vita Tuscany is a dream for anyone who enjoys good food and drink. Every meal is a celebration of local ingredients - h andmade pasta, slow-cooked sauces, fresh vegetables, wild boar, truffles , and more. And the wine? Rich Chiantis, crisp Vernaccias, and bold Super Tuscans are just the beginning. Whether you’re dining at a rustic trattoria or enjoying a wine tasting at a family-run vineyard, there’s something wonderfully honest and satisfying about eating in Tuscany. Reason 3: A culture that embraces LGBTQ+ travellers While Italy as a whole still has its conservative corners, Tuscany - especially cities like Florence and Pisa - has built a reputation as one of the more progressive and LGBTQ+ friendly regions in the country. Friendly locals, open-minded attitudes, and a growing gay scene in urban areas make it easy to feel at home here. Tuscany might not shout its inclusivity, but it quietly welcomes everyone, and that’s something special. Reason 4: Art and history at every turn Tuscany isn’t just beautiful - it’s culturally rich in a way few places can match. You’ll walk through cities where Renaissance masters once lived and worked, explore Roman ruins , and admire frescoes in little chapels and grand cathedrals alike. From the Leaning Tower of Pisa to the medieval towers of San Gimignano, and the cobbled streets of Siena , Tuscany is a place where history and art are a part of everyday life. Reason 5: Charming towns full of character Each Tuscan town has its own personality. Pisa buzzes with student energy and historic charm . Siena is known for its dramatic Palio horse race and Gothic architecture . San Gimignano rises like a stone fairytale from the countryside . And the ancient city walls of Lucca have enchanted visitors for centuries. Even the smallest villages are full of character - charming cafés, quiet piazzas, and friendly locals who still know your name after one afternoon. It’s easy to feel connected, grounded, and welcome. Reason 6: A place to slow down and connect Tuscany isn’t about rushing from sight to sight. It’s about taking your time - whether that’s watching the sunset with a glass of wine, relaxing by a pool surrounded by vineyards, or having a long conversation over a home-cooked meal. There’s space here to reflect, reconnect, and just be yourself . And when you’re surrounded by like-minded gay travellers , those moments become even more meaningful. Let Tuscany work its magic - with us If this sounds like your kind of escape, we’d love to show you Tuscany the way it’s meant to be experienced. This small but stunning Central American country offers a unique mix of natural beauty, biodiversity , and vibrant culture . For gay travellers looking for a safe, welcoming, and unforgettable holiday, Costa Rica ticks all the boxes. Here are six compelling reasons why your next gay getaway should be to this tropical paradise . Reason 1: Breathtaking nature: volcanoes, rainforests and dream beaches Costa Rica is a wonderland for nature lovers. Picture active volcanoes rising dramatically above the jungle, thick cloud forests teeming with life, and golden beaches where the rainforest meets the sea. Over 25% of the country is protected as national parks, wildlife refuges, or conservation areas , making it one of the most eco-friendly countries in the world. Whether you're ziplining through the treetops, hiking to a steaming volcanic crater, or simply soaking in a natural hot spring, you’ll feel connected to the Earth in a whole new way . Reason 2: Mind-blowing biodiversity Costa Rica is one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet. Although it occupies only about 51,000 square kilometres (roughly the size of the Vermont or twice the size of Wales), it hosts 5-6% of the world’s known species . We're talking about over 900 bird species (more than in all of North America!), around 250 types of mammals such as sloths, monkeys, jaguars, and tapirs, plus 220 reptile species , 180 types of amphibians , and a staggering 1,200 butterfly species . For wildlife lovers, it’s nothing short of paradise. Reason 3: No long distances - just more time to enjoy One of the joys of traveling in Costa Rica is its compact size . With a land area comparable to that of Estonia, you won’t be spending your vacation trapped in a car or on endless bus rides. Instead, you’ll have more time to hike in the rainforest in the morning, relax on the beach by afternoon, and sip cocktails under the stars in the evening. Traveling here is about immersing yourself, not rushing around. Reason 4: Two stunning coastlines to choose from Costa Rica is blessed with two stunning coastlines : the wild, surf-friendly Pacific Ocean to the west , and the lush, Caribbean-flavoured Atlantic coast to the east . Each offers its own vibe - whether you're into beach yoga and sunset cocktails in Tamarindo, or reggae beats and Afro-Caribbean culture in Puerto Viejo. Many beaches remain unspoiled and uncrowded , perfect for a little “you time” or romantic moments with your partner. Sunrise on the Atlantic, sunset on the Pacific - it’s entirely possible in one day. Reason 5: Warm people and a joyful culture The people of Costa Rica, affectionately known as “Ticos,” are known for their hospitality, relaxed attitude, and deep connection to nature . You’ll feel genuinely welcome here. Many locals speak English, especially in tourist areas, and Costa Rica ranks among the more LGBTQ+-friendly countries in Latin America . In the capital San José, you’ll find a small but growing gay scene, plenty of art and culture, and locals eager to share their love for music, dance, and community. Reason 6: Delicious cuisine that surprises and satisfies Costa Rican cuisine is a delightful mix of simplicity and bold flavour. Staples like gallo pinto (rice and beans with spices), casado (a hearty plate of rice, beans, plantains, salad, and a protein), and fresh ceviche (delicious fish marinated in lime juice) are must-tries. Don’t miss out on tropical fruits you’ve probably never tasted before - guanábana, cas, nance and more. If you're a coffee lover, you’re in for a treat: Costa Rica produces some of the world’s finest Arabica coffee , often grown on small, sustainable farms in the highlands. TOP 8: The small coastal town of Calheta – home to one of Madeira’s few beaches Madeira is not exactly known for its beaches – most of the coastline is steep and rocky. But there are two small bays in Calheta where you can swim and relax by the water . There are also several little restaurants where you can stop to have a bite to eat. TOP 9: Funchal – the beautiful island capital With a population of 130,000 , Funchal is not only the capital but also the largest city on Madeira . In this very personal interview , he shares why he loves his homeland, what touches our guests most, and why our gay groups are welcomed with open arms wherever they go.   About Jai and his deep connection to India What does working as a tour guide mean to you? It makes me proud when guests fall in love with India and return. I love showing them my country the way it truly is – vibrant, contradictory, and beautiful. What, to you, is the soul of India? Without a doubt: the people. Their kindness, curiosity, and warmth shape the entire travel experience. Anyone who comes with an open heart will feel India’s soul right away. Do you have a favorite place? Udaipur. The city is beautifully nestled between lakes and mountains, rich in history, and has a special magic for me. I dream of having a home there one day. "Jai is the face of his country – and our guests see India through his eyes." North India – Colors, Chaos, and Cultural Treasures Which place continues to amaze you? Jaipur – the "Pink City" is full of life and history. The Palace of Winds, Amber Fort, the observatory – every corner holds something special. How do our guests react to the big city life in Delhi? Many are surprised by how friendly and warm the people are, despite the hustle and bustle. The “functional chaos” of the streets fascinates everyone. It’s easy to strike up conversations, people smile at you – it creates real connection. Are there any hidden gems off the tourist trail? Yes, many. I love surprising guests with small discoveries – a local market, a quiet alley, or a meal with farmers in the countryside. These spontaneous moments are often the most memorable.    " India may seem chaotic, but it works – and that surprises many."   South India – Spirituality, Nature & Serenity What sets the South apart from the North? The North is known for deserts, the Himalayas, and palaces. The South is famous for tea plantations, backwaters, and colorful temples. Both regions are completely different, and that contrast is what makes them so fascinating. What fascinates you about Kerala? The nature, the abundant water, Ayurveda, and the calmness of the people. An Ayurvedic massage with warm oil in Kerala is an unforgettable experience.    "South India is green, gentle, and full of spirituality."     India & the LGBTQ+ Community How do you perceive the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in India? There has been progress. Large gay weddings in Udaipur, pride parades in Jaipur, and a lot of media attention. Two men holding hands is not shocking here. That makes many things easier. Have there been special moments with our groups? Every group is unique. I’m still in contact with many guests today. These are real friendships that last beyond the trip. How do locals react to our groups? Mostly with interest and respect. We stand out, and that often sparks nice conversations. Other tourist groups often seek interaction too. Openness connects.    "Love is love - and our groups encounter warm curiosity and hospitality in India."     Personal & full of inspiration What was your most memorable moment with a Guys.travel group? A surprise farewell dance with music and everything! I was completely overwhelmed. That kind of heartfelt warmth is something you never forget. North or South – what would you choose for yourself? Both. They’re so different, there’s no way to compare them. To truly experience India, you have to embrace both sides. India in three words? Love. Colorful. Friendly.    "One time, a group prepared a farewell dance for me - it moved me to tears."    👉 Your personal trip to India Whether it’s majestic palaces in the North or tropical serenity in the South – with Jai as your guide, every one of our India journeys becomes a true adventure of the heart.
