Details

Day 1, Sat, 21.09.2024: Benvenuti in Italia!

After your arrival in Naples (flights not included), you’ll transfer to the hotel (additional fee). Once you’ve checked in, you’ll have the afternoon to start exploring the area around the hotel on your own. In the evening you’ll finally get to meet the other guys over a welcome dinner at the hotel. ‘Cin cin’ to your unforgettable gay holiday!

Day 2, Sun, 22.09.2024: Blast from the past

Get ready to travel back in time on an exciting excursion to Pompeii! At the Forum of Pompeii, you’ll learn how politics were conducted in ancient times and how the Pompeiians entertained themselves in the wine taverns, thermal baths, and amphitheatre after a hard day’s work. You’ll hear about the final hours of Pompeii and about the fiery shower of ash that completely buried the city and its inhabitants. In Sorrento, you’ll be catapulted back into modern-day civilisation. Make sure to drop into one of the many cafés for an aperitif or a delicious Italian espresso! Later, you’ll take a tour of a lovingly tended lemon grove near Sorrento where you’ll be able to try mouth-watering homemade jams, pastries, and lemon gelato – and some homemade limoncello of course!

Day 3, Mon, 23.09.2024: Discovery day

Today, you have the entire day at your leisure – relax on the hotel’s gorgeous sun terrace with its breathtaking view or wander through the streets and discover more of what the area has to offer. If you’re more the active type, you can join us on a hiking excursion (additional fee) to the outermost tip of the Sorrento Peninsula. From Punta Campanella, you’ll hike along the stunning coastline (3.5 hours, moderate) and will be rewarded with unparalleled views of the Amalfi Coast, the Gulf of Naples, and the Faraglioni rocks on the isle of Capri on the horizon.

Day 4, Tue, 24.09.2024: Naples up close and personal

The UNESCO-crowned centre of Naples is a masterpiece consisting of spacious squares, majestic churches, and magnificent palazzi. You’ll stroll through Spaccanapoli, the most famous street in the historic centre. And what gay holiday in Italy would be complete without trying an authentic pizza napoletana? A pizzaiolo will explain to you the art of making true Italian pizza in a stone oven. If you’d like, you can even try to toss the dough yourself. In a casual Neapolitan setting, you’ll savour every bite of the delicious pizza before washing it down with a refreshing beverage. This is the life…

  • It’s no surprise that UNESCO has declared the Amalfi Coast a World Heritage Site. Watch this video and you’ll understand why.

  • Dolce vita, the Italian way of life, is not just about living your best life – it’s about letting life inspire you. Climb the countless stairways – past the olive trees and vine terraces, through the fishing harbours and along the picturesque coves (perfect for swimming!) – in your search for inspiration!

  • The charming 4-star hotel is in a truly idyllic location. Surrounded by lush olive groves and forests, it offers an unforgettable view of the Gulf of Naples and the imposing Mount Vesuvius.

  • Despite the strong influence of Catholicism in Italy, same-sex civil partnerships which envisage far-reaching alignment with heterosexual marriages were finally recognised in May 2016. Nevertheless, in some parts of the country, gay life primarily takes place in public places, owing to a lack of gay venues.

Hotels

During your gay holiday, you’ll be staying at the charming family-run Hotel Astoria Vico***. Its fantastic location, just a short walk from the water and yet still centrally located in Vico Equense on the Sorrento coast, invites you to stop and admire the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples.

Day 5, Wed, 25.09.2024: The most beautiful road in the world

Get ready to experience the stunning beauty of the Amalfi Coast first hand on the winding road from Positano to Amalfi. At the edge of the road, the steep cliffs plunge dramatically into the crashing waves. At our photo stop in Positano, you’ll have a mesmerising view of the Gulf of Salerno. The Amalfi Cathedral will enchant you with its sweeping staircase, which is a favourite spot for wedding couples and photographers alike. The splendid Arabian architectural elements in the Cloister of Paradise are reminiscent of the glorious past of what was once Italy’s most powerful maritime republic. Later, on the boat to Salerno, you’ll have a stunning view from the water of the fragrant lemon groves and sprawling vineyards.

Day 6, Thu, 26.09.2024: Capri dreaming

If Italy has awakened the spirit of adventure in you, you’ll have more than enough free time to embark on your own excursions today – or if you’re in the mood for paradise, you can join your guide on an excursion to the breathtaking isle of Capri (additional fee). From Naples you’ll take the ferry to the rocky Mediterranean island. A minibus will take you up to the charming Piazzetta di Capri where you can begin exploring the island, which was once a favourite among jetsetters from all over the world. In Anacapri, you have two options – you can either enjoy a Capri Spritz on the piazza or check out the island’s high-end shops. Depending on the conditions, you can take a boat ride to the Blue Grotto, a mesmerising cave with deep blue waters, or climb up to Monte Solaro by chairlift and inhale the pure salty sea air. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to the mainland.

Day 7, Fri, 27.09.2024: Herculaneum and Vesuvius

Herculaneum is in no way inferior to Pompeii when it comes to exciting finds. The baths, the College of the Priests of Augustus, and the theatre are almost completely preserved, while the Casa dei Cervi shines with its elaborate decorations and sculptures in the sprawling garden. The journey continues towards the famous Mount Vesuvius. On the way, you’ll visit a winery and sample an exquisite selection of wines over lunch, all of which have a unique flavour owing to the volcanic soil of the region. In the afternoon, it’s time to explore the active crater of Mount Vesuvius. You’ll cover the final stretch of the journey on foot (depending on the weather, approx. 1 hour walk, moderate). You’ll be rewarded for your efforts with a spectacular panorama of the Gulf of Naples as well as an amazing view into the striking crater filled with sulphurous clouds. Simply unforgettable.

Day 8, Sat, 28.09.2024: Arrivederci

After an amazing gay holiday full of dolce vita, the time has come to say “goodbye”! You’ll transfer to the airport (additional fee) to board your flight home (flights not included).

FEEDBACK

Leandro | Portugal

Amazing how our guide was able to give us so many great impressions of the Sorrento Peninsula in just one week: hiking through citrus and olive groves, watching the sun's rays play on the coastline from the boat, exploring places like Amalfi or Ravello or simply lying lazily in the sun on a sandy beach.

André | France

I would never have travelled to the Amalfi Coast alone. This trip was so much fun in a group with exciting guys. The contacts with fellow travellers were very enriching. It was my first time travelling with you and definitely not the last time.

Jack | Canada

I thoroughly enjoyed the Italy tour. The organisation was very good and our guide did everything he could to bring the group together and make sure we had a great holiday. He also offered us a excursions on the day off, which was really great.
