Same-sex relations are legal in India. Owing to the popularity of the Bollywood industry, the media and Indian society are increasingly addressing and taking a stance on LGBT issues, especially in the larger cities. Nevertheless, India is more traditionally oriented, and sexuality is lived in private and not demonstrated in public. Therefore, you should generally be cautious with public displays of affection. A truly unique gay tour. Dunes of Sossusvlei Atlantic breeze in Swakopmund Damaraland Wildlife at Etosha National Park Visual inspiration Deadvlei – bizarre desert scenery Zebras in the wild Watching lions in Namibia Deadvlei – bizarre desert scenery 1/11 Details Day 1, Sat, 04.11.2023: Welcome to sunny Namibia After arriving at the international airport in Windhoek (flights not included), you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you’ll finally meet the other guys. Spend the day lounging by the pool or go out and explore Windhoek on your own – the city centre is just a few minutes away. Later in the afternoon, you’ll meet your guide. Over dinner at Joe’s Beerhouse, you and the other guys can begin getting excited about the gay adventure ahead. Day 2, Sun, 05.11.2023: Namib Desert On a tour of Windhoek , you’ll get a taste of the city’s striking historical landmarks and monuments as well as of the suburbs of Khomasdal , Katutura , and Ludwigsdorf . But now it’s time to leave civilisation behind and depart for your lodge in the fascinating Namib Desert . There you can spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool, sipping on a cool drink, and dreaming of the desert adventures to come. Why Namibia ? Namibia is ONE OF A KIND – leading travel magazines regularly award this African country the title of Top Travel Destination (watch this video and you’ll understand why). The Namib Desert with its mighty dunes and Etosha National Park with its abundance of fascinating wildlife are reason enough to visit this wonderful place. If you’re looking for breathtaking (sometimes bizarre) landscapes as well as spectacular starry skies beyond compare, look no further. Same-sex sexual activity is not subject to criminal prosecution as long as it takes place in a private setting; however, there is no real gay community in Namibia and homosexuality is largely taboo – for this reason, you should be somewhat cautious with regard to public displays of affection. Keep in mind that we’ll be spending most of the time outdoors where the topic of homosexuality doesn’t play a role. Day 3, Mon, 06.11.2023: Dunes of Sossusvlei Rise and shine! After an early start, you’ll arrive at the Namib Naukluft National Park shortly after sunrise. You’ll be mesmerised as you watch how the dunes are painted striking hues of apricot, red and orange by the first rays of sunlight. You’ll be captivated by the surreal landscapes of Deadvlei and Sossusvlei , two pans (salt and clay) surrounded by some of the highest dunes on the planet. Be sure to walk up one of these majestic dunes and take in the breathtaking sight below. Before returning to your lodge, you’ll take a short hike through Sesriem Canyon , a natural phenomenon in the heart of the Namib Desert. Day 4, Tue, 07.11.2023: Atlantic breeze After breakfast, you’ll travel to Solitaire , a small settlement seemingly in the middle of nowhere on the edge of the Namib Naukluft National Park. Via the desolate, rolling hills of the Kuiseb Valley , you’ll continue your gay tour. Travelling along the Trans-Kalahari Highway between the dune belt and the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll reach the coastal city of Swakopmund , where you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy the ocean breeze at your leisure. Day 5, Wed, 08.11.2023: Colonial architecture and a colony of seals Embrace the relaxed pace of life in Swakopmund today – enjoy fresh coffee and pastries at one of the many local cafés or travel back in time and explore the many examples of German colonial architecture in the city. If the sea calls to you, take an adventure-packed catamaran cruise (additional fee) to Pelican Point and beautiful Walvis Bay . You’ll marvel at the dolphins, turtles, seals, and mola mola (ocean sunfish) that you encounter. On board, you’ll enjoy sparkling wine, fresh oysters, and other mouth-watering snacks. In the afternoon, you’ll head north to Cape Cross and visit a lively seal colony. Day 6, Thu, 09.11.2023: Mountains and stars Get ready to be fascinated in Damaraland – one of the most sparsely populated and most geologically diverse areas in Africa. This harsh, rocky environment is home to the elusive desert elephant, the black rhino, and free-roaming antelope. You’ll visit Twyfelfontein where you’ll see mysterious examples of rock engravings and paintings created by the Bushmen over 6,000 years ago. In the Petrified Forest , you’ll be transfixed by fossilised wood and amazed by Welwitschia mirabilis – the oldest living desert plant on the planet. Another busy day of your gay tour will end at a lodge with a romantic view over the Ugab Valley . Day 7, Fri, 10.11.2023: Exploring Etosha – Part I After visiting the iconic Vingerklip , a bizarre and striking rock formation, you’ll make your way to Namibia’s wild-life haven – Etosha National Park . There’s no time to waste, so keep your camera ready! The park, which surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan, is home to four of the Big Five (elephants, lions, leopards, and rhinos) as well as an array of popular game species such as giraffes, blue wildebeest, plains and mountain zebras, hyenas, lions, leopards, and antelopes. You might also encounter some endangered species such as black rhinos, cheetahs, and black-faced impalas. Day 8, Sat, 11.11.2023: Exploring Etosha – Part II Another exciting game drive through Etosha National Park awaits you. If you’re up for a different type of adventure, you can book an unforgettable open game drive for an additional fee. The park has the highest concentration of wildlife in all of Namibia, so you just might encounter wildlife you didn’t see on your last drive past the many waterholes along the Etosha Pan. In the afternoon, you’ll travel back to the lodge, where you can enjoy the rest of the evening dreaming about the gay adventures you’ve had under the starry, starry sky. Day 9, Sun, 12.11.2023: All good things come to an end With a heavy heart, you’ll say goodbye to this wildlife paradise after breakfast. Via the villages of Tsumeb and Otjiwarongo , you’ll reach the final lodge of your gay tour. In the late afternoon, it’s time for one last drive through the Namibian bush and of course, one last sundowner. After a farewell dinner with the guys, stay awake as long as you can under the night sky. Make a wish on a shooting star and who knows – maybe you’ll be back in Namibia sooner than you know for some more gay adventures! You’ll stroll through the ancient Roman town as your guide shares with you the secrets of its architecture, its dramatic history, and fascinating rediscovery. After being surrounded by ancient rocks, you’ll find yourself enjoying stunning panoramic views among the holm oak trees in the Ajloun Forest Reserve . In the evening an Arabian welcome dinner awaits you – complete with a thousand and one delights! Why Jordan ? Jordan is an absolute travel hotspot in the Middle East. A journey through this diverse country will transport you to the world of Aladdin and friends. The mix of culture, nature, relaxation, and pure adrenaline offers you 1001 facets that you won’t forget anytime soon. As one of the most progressive, stable, and secure countries in the Arab world, Jordan maintains peaceful international relations with its neighbours and is not involved in any of the outlying crises, thus making it a holiday oasis in the region. Same-sex relations were legalised as early as 1951, which makes Jordan extremely progressive in comparison to the rest of the Arab world in this regard. However, no true gay community exists in the country and the topic of homosexuality remains taboo, which is why visitors should be cautious when it comes to public displays of affection. Jordan is paradise for guys who love to spend time outdoors – and in the great outdoors, the topic of sexuality doesn’t play a role! Day 3, Thu, 12.10.2023: Off to the Dead Sea In the morning, the bus will take you to the impressive citadel and Roman theatre in Amman and then continue to the mystical Dead Sea . In Madaba you’ll encounter the legendary Madaba Mosaic Map and learn how routes were planned in ancient times – long before GPS systems. From Mount Nebo , the burial place of Moses, you’ll be greeted with magnificent views of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem. After all this gay holiday adventure, your hotel welcomes you in the late afternoon with its own private beach! Day 4, Fri, 13.10.2023: Canyon adventure Get ready for some rugged gay adventure today! In the morning, you’ll go for a hike in Wadi Mujib , where depending on the weather, you’ll take the Siq Trail – an unforgettable water hike through a breathtaking gorge. As you wade through the water, swim, and climb rocks, you’ll feel the cool spring water splash on your skin as it forces its way through the towering sandstone walls on either side. In the late morning, you’ll have time to relax before you go off to your legendary photo shoot at the Dead Sea ! Day 5, Sat, 14.10.2023: In the footsteps of the Crusaders Don’t be fooled by the idyllic backdrop of Kerak Castle with its Crusader past: its corridors are as dark and winding as its history. Your guide will mesmerise you with unbelievable tales of the fascinating people who once occupied this imposing fortification. From the castle viewpoint, you might even catch a glimpse of the Mount of Olives. Afterwards you’ll set off for Wadi Musa where the legendary city of Petra is waiting for you to discover it’s magic. Day 6, Sun, 15.10.2023: The mystical rock city of Petra Early in the morning you’ll make your way to the pink city of the Nabataeans . As you pass through a narrow rock corridor in the middle of the desert, you’ll catch your first glimpse of this magical place. Our first highlight is the elaborate Al-Khazneh , the Treasury. But your gay adventure doesn’t stop here – there are temples, tombs, and shrines waiting to be explored. All this bears witness to the fabulous wealth of the city’s former inhabitants – right down to an ancient rooftop spa complete with hot water technology and a 360-degree panoramic view. Back at the hotel, it’s time for a little rest and relaxation! Day 7, Mon, 16.10.2023: Desert dreaming Today you’ll explore the fascinating desert labyrinth of Wadi Rum and when the bus can’t go any further, you’ll switch to off-road vehicles. You’ll roll past chiselled rock formations and be inspired by the mesmerising designs left in the sand by one of nature’s most talented artists: the wind! In the afternoon, you’ll have a picnic lunch with the guys and in the evening, you’ll marvel at the glorious desert sunset – the perfect way to end another day of your gay tour! On our travels, we often experience moments that captivate us and evoke a downright sense of humility in the face of nature. And now you can also experience these unforgettable moments on one of our tours together with like-minded travellers. The world has a lot to offer – exciting destinations, fascinating people Guys.travel on YouTube As a gay single, you’re especially drawn to places where you can make friends quickly and where you’re not alone. But does that always automatically mean going to Gran Canaria, Sitges or Mykonos? The world has so much more to offer! With Guys.travel, you can explore the world and get to know guys who tick just like you in a very laid-back manner. Especially for singles, this can be a real alternative to gay dating portals such as Romeo and the like. And even as a gay couple, you can expand your circle of friends in a more natural way with Guys.travel – which is no easy task in the online age. Aldo My name is Aldo and I’m originally from sunny Southern California – but I’ve lived in Germany for a long time now. I live in the bustling metropolis of Frankfurt where I work as a translator, editor, and content writer. I guess you can say I’m a language buff. Aside from my main hobbies of playing the violin and dancing flamenco (or at least trying!), I absolutely love hiking in the mountains. It’s the one place where I feel at peace with the universe. Torsten My name is Torsten and I grew up in the greater Frankfurt region – so that makes me a true Hessian. Travel is one of my great passions. I’ve travelled around world a lot and enjoy immersing myself in foreign cultures and in nature. This inspires me and keeps me grounded. Apart from that, I’m very interested in art and classical music. Martin I’m Martin and I was born and raised in rural Lower Saxony in Northern Germany – I’m a country boy! I live in the quaint town of Oberursel in the Taunus region not far from the “big city”. I feel very much at home there and I can be close to nature. In addition to my passion for travelling, I enjoy going to concerts, spending time in the outdoors, sampling world cuisines and hanging out with friends. Quality over mass consumption We’re not interested in offering as many tours as possible with as many participants as possible. Instead, our approach consists of offering tours to selected destinations to small groups – and all this in cooperation with tour operators who truly know their business. Each tour is led by a professional, English-speaking guide. Unfortunately for us, we can only personally take part in a few of the tours we offer. Nature, culture, adventure & enjoyment Experiencing new things, being active, making discoveries and enjoying yourself: that’s what a holiday is all about. And this is exactly what the gay tours available through Guys.travel have to offer. From hikes through spectacular landscapes and cultural highlights to relaxing by the pool or having dinner together on the waterfront. The travel destinations we offer are always extraordinary and gay-friendly – in other words, not your run-of-the-mill holiday. You book an all-round carefree package The price includes airport transfer, accommodation in a single room and an English-speaking tour guide on site for the duration of the trip. In other words, you can just sit back and relax. We want you to feel completely at ease during your holiday. This of course includes beautiful accommodation. Standard accommodation is in a single room, but you can also request a double room if you’re travelling with your partner or a friend. Travel climate-neutrally All greenhouse gas emissions caused by flights, bus, train and boat journeys on the group tours offered by Guys.travel are fully offset by investments in the construction of biogas plants in India and Nepal. Through their operation, these plants reduce CO2 emissions by a corresponding amount. Above that, for every Guys.travel booking a tree is planted on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico through Plant-for-the-Planet – a tangible contribution to reforestation that benefits the climate and also creates jobs locally. Respect and tolerance When we travel, we’re guests in foreign countries that have different customs and traditions. Our guides help us to learn more about the country and its people. Respect and tolerance towards other religions and cultures are our number one priority. After all, we as gays belong to a minority community and understand what it feels like to be discriminated against. For every booking, we’ll make a donation to Enough-is-Enough , Germany's largest LGBTIQ* organization focusing on global action to stop homophobia.
